Steps programme
The STEPS programme is a structured, training and engagement programme developed specifically for the supported housing sector.
STEPS is based on a checklist (curriculum) of the 39 essential learning outcomes we believe a client should know before they move on from a supported housing service. This includes, being able to budget, cooking a healthy meal to understanding how to apply for benefits and grants.
The programme works by providing you with a range of innovative, engaging materials you need to deliver each of these learning outcomes. These can be either through a group training session, as part of key work or by recording the everyday tasks staff supervise in the course of their working day.
The client doesn’t need to complete every activity on the plan; sessions are prioritised based on their needs and fit seamlessly with current support planning paperwork.
The STEPS resources can be fully customised to your local needs whilst remaining a nationally accredited Level 1 STEP UP Award, Certificate and Diploma. All the training materials, staff & management guidance are included to make the process of rolling it out across your services or organisation as simple as possible.

It's given me a new confidence in support work, at one point I used to worry I didn't know it all, now I realise the important thing is to help someone discover it themselves.
